The Boston Beauty Collective seeks to align beauty professionals across disciplines with other creative professionals, like photographers and stylists, etc., and team them up & cross-pollinate them with social media
influencers, tech, health, fitness, wellness and financial educators. Yes, it's a BEAUTIFUL thing.
We are an enterprising group of artistic & creative professionals who develop and inspire beauty makers and help them grow to higher levels, both professionally and creatively. Through fun, informative and visually stimulating events, our goal is to have beauty service providers across the board network, connect, and collaborate to build long-standing creative work relationships.
The first forum of its kind, this beauty, health and wellness event is designed to bring the beauty consumer TOGETHER with the professional beauty, health and wellness provider. In one venue, attendees and participants can network, mix and mingle and connect with local brands and businesses, all in the backyard of Boston.
The Collective will continually evolve to meet the needs of the beauty consumer by matching them with local talented professionals.
A portion of the proceeds from our Beauty Classic Fall Forum will go to the not-for-profit organization, CUT IT OUT®. The Boston Beauty Collective feels that we, as beauty makers and creatives have the unique position of building strong bonds of being a confidante and even a trustworthy friend of our clients, some of who may be, directly or indirectly, the victims of domestic violence. And, we feel strongly, as does the Cut It Out program, that there is absolutely no excuse for abuse!
CUT IT OUT® was originally created by The Women's Fund of Greater Birmingham and the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence as a statewide program. In March 2003, the National Cosmetology Association took the CUT IT OUT® program nationwide, training hundreds of salon professionals since. Today, CUT IT OUT® is a program of the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) Foundation. .
Salon professionals are in a unique position to recognize the signs and symptoms of abuse in their clients and co-workers. Because of the intimate and nurturing nature of the relationship between salon professionals and their clients and co-workers, salon professionals can often spot signs of physical abuse that others may never see. Research shows that most battered women never call the police or go to a shelter. However, they do usually talk about the abuse with someone they trust. Because salon professionals are skilled and experienced listeners who are personally interested in those around them, many victims suffering from abuse feel comfortable confiding in them - even if they would never tell anyone else. For an abused woman, the salon may be an ideal environment to seek out help because it may be one of the few places she is allowed to go without her abuser. With proper training on how to recognize the signs of abuse and safely refer victims to help, salon professionals can become invaluable and influential community partners in the fight against domestic abuse. .
